Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
For all visitors:
- IP address (used for rate limiting, not stored permanently in identifiable form)
- Browser fingerprint hash (screen size, timezone, language — used solely for rate limiting)
- Submitted sentence content
For registered users (optional):
- Email address
- Password (hashed, never stored in plain text)
2. How we use your data
- IP addresses and fingerprint hashes are used exclusively to enforce rate limits (one contribution per chapter) and prevent abuse. They are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be reversed to identify you.
- Submitted sentences are displayed publicly on the Site as part of the collaborative work.
- Email addresses are used only for account authentication. We will not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
3. What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
- We do not use analytics tools that track individual users.
- We do not share your IP address or fingerprint data with anyone.
4. AI moderation
Submitted sentences are processed by an AI moderation service (via OpenRouter) to filter inappropriate content. The sentence text is sent to this service for evaluation. No personal data (IP, email, fingerprint) is shared with the moderation service.
5. Data retention
- Fingerprint hashes: retained as long as the sentence exists on the Site.
- Sentence content: retained indefinitely as part of the collaborative work.
- Account data: retained until you request deletion.
6. Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated email by contacting us. Note that submitted sentences are part of a collaborative work and cannot be individually removed (as described in the Terms of Service).
Under GDPR (if applicable): you have the right to access, rectify, and request deletion of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Data location
Data is stored on servers provided by Supabase (cloud infrastructure). See Supabase's privacy policy for details on their data handling.
8. Changes
We may update this policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
